A friend of mine is looking for a caramel/vanilla scent from Victoria's Secret, discontinued, I'm assuming. She was saving one last spray from the bottle for her wedding day, but her family lost everything in a house fire, so I'd love to find this scent for her--preferably as a surprise, so I don't want to ask her for more details, like the specific name. Any help?

I hv a thing for subtle floral aromatics, leaning towards bland & conservative. Some may say 'how boring'. But I really don't like these "modern" fragrances at all. Too strong/overpowering/synthetic for me. Not a big fan of so-called new-age aromachology or ozonic scents either. & certainly don't wish to smell of fruits !! Well, just bought "White Reseda" by Roger & Gallet. A lovely white floral + orange blossoms. Perhaps will stock up on another bottle, coz I hv a feeling this is just a ltd run which will be dis/c after a year or so. Love the following (in some order of preference): * Victoria's Secret "Victoria" * Laura Ashley's "No.1" Got scalped buying these two thru eBay !!! U bet, I was blooming desperate & silly getting my hands on overpriced stuff. Well u see, I wore them during the happiest & most happening years of my life (mid-90s). Guess I wish to relive those moments now tt I'm slowly recovering from some grief & trying to start life anew. * Vic Secret's "Azurine" - am going after this one now, hee. Wish me luck ! * Cartier's Limited Editions of "So Pretty" : "So Pretty - Rose Verte", "So Pretty - Sirop Des Bois", "So Pretty - Eau Fruitee". I actually can't stand the original "So Pretty". But am utterly besotted with these variations, launched 1999-2000. Selling out fast, I'm gonna stock up before they disappear & end up ridiculuously overpriced ! * Crabtree & Evelyn's "Song de Chine". * Creations Imaginez "Eau D'oolong". Two exquisite tea-based fragrances. No offence but they are tonnes better than E. Arden's "Green Tea" which IMHO, smells strong & fake. Was terribly upset when they were discontinued. Not actively tracking them down but if I ever come across any bottles, will grab'em! * Escada's "Un Ete En Provence" (1994). * Escada's "Loving Bouquet"(1999). Two lovely Escada florals. Can only find the minis of the Provence one, no longer full-sized ones around. * Shiseido's "Hanasumire" (early 90s). This was a rare ltd edn, a membership gift when I was briefly a Shiseido Circle Member. Simply beautiful. Had I known what a treasure I had in my hands, wld hv guarded it safely & used it sparingly for very, very special occasion. I was very young & completely ignorant abt anything then. Am kicking myself for using it up so fast .... Idiot ! * Shiseido's "Murasaki". Purple floral, light not intoxicating. Think has been discontinued. Sigh. Going to try next : * Stila's "Creme Bouquet" & "Jade Blossom" (in 2003). * Banana Republic "BR". Heard it's a light bouquet of magnolias, jasmine, hint of green tea. Just my kind of thing :) Others : * Givenchy;s "Grasenbon". Dunno whether it's still in production or dis/c. * Victorio & Lucchino's "Abril" (seems is now under Puig, not V&L). Quite hard to find. * Body Shop's "Moonflower". * Bvlgari's "Bvlgari Pour Femme". * YSL "Paris". Bodyshop may be too low-end for some ppl. Anyway the last two were destined to become classics, the day they were launched. Coz the scent pretty much lives up to its marketing image. Thankfuly they hv a pretty strong following, which means will be in production for a number of years to come. However the day when they're discontinued .... Hmmm, shall not think abt tt ! Cheers & wld lurv to read more tales from fellow fragrance-junkies out there !!! Regds, Sharon

You guys should check out the website of this store located here in Dallas. They have the best Perfume Oils I have ever found. My wife just loves their lotion and they have the strongest candles. They have all the Designer Scents, even discontinued this like Wrappings. I know they have new items everytime we go in so I would call them if you don't see your perfume on their website. They also have many new products in the store that aren't on the website either. Check them out. Their Oils are better then the Originals. They also tell me that they can duplicate fragrances if you have some of it left. www.perfumeoilshoppe.com

I love almost all of the Gap scents, especially So Pink and Day, which was discontinued. I have a big bottle of it that I've barely made a dent in, but if I could find more for a good price I'd probably go ahead and get it, just to have. Also, I'd like to find some of their limited fragrances: Close, which just went out; I believe one was called Summer, I have the little soaps, but I would like to find a spray, and I took the wrapping off the soaps so I don't know for sure the name of the fragrance. I don't know what others there have been, could anyone let me know? I'd also be interested in buying a small bottle of Clinique Happy. And some others I would like to find are: Roxy Hula, Mary Kay Velocity, Bath and Body Works Imagine...Happiness, and a new one I just got a sample of, Mat by Masaki Matsushima. If you have any of them available, let me know. I know this seems like a lot, but I like to change my scent depending on my mood!! Oh, one other: Avon had a line for a while, I got one scent, which was called In the Clouds, and I'd like to find the others, but I don't remember what they were called.

I know how you feel; (all of us who ever loved Victoria’s Secret fragrances do!!) another beautiful fragrance lost in time. Welcome to the club. My favorite fragrance Crimson Kiss, was discontinued at the same time that Honeysuckle Mist was. (January 1999) Those of us who can’t live without our beloved Victoria fragrance go to Ebay and purchase from vendors who bought the discontinued fragrances (usually by the crate) knowing how upset people like us would be when our fragrances are gone. And that is where we go. They do have Honeysuckle Mist every once in a while. You’ll have to check for it every now and then. Just type in “Honeysuckle Mist” and it should take you there.

Just wanted to add some comments (and maybe answer some questions) about Victoria's Secret fragrances and what the deal is with the constantly changing fragrances... Victoria's Secret watches their numbers as to what sells the best, and what isn't selling as well. They have a semi-annual sale every January and June (of every year) The best time to shop all year is in January and June. Not just because of the incredible markdowns, but, because that is when they (usually) discontinue fragrances. They mark them down for 3 for 16.99 all the way down to 3 for 11.99--to get them out of the store. If you see your favorite fragrance marked down like this and in a white wedged container, it has been discontinued. STOCK UP!! Luckily, there has been demand for some fragrances to come back, discontinued fragrances such as Enchanted Apple, Jeweled Citrus, Riviera Sun, and Wildberry Bouquet. These fragrances, while they are discontinued, are back by popular demand and sold in Victoria's Secret stores IN JANUARY AND JUNE ONLY. And, in huge double-sized 16 oz containers. Vanilla Lace did so well as a semi-annual fragrance that it returned to the shelves all year round. I believe that if there is high enough demand for an old fragrance (like the exotic bouquet and tranquil breezes) that they will come back at least for January and June sale. Keep knocking on the door!! Let your voices be heard!! Congratulations to all of you Vanilla Lace lovers for getting Vanilla Lace back on the shelves!!!! c1ar1ssa
