With his wife disguised as a boy, he & his family fled by night to the coast & were smuggled out of the country. He went to London & settled where he died in 1691. Note: Some say Eleanor married three times, however court records show she never married Henry Thacker who would have been her second husband. Their child, Lettice, was given the last name of Aldin, not Thacker, as that was Eleanor's last name at the time. Lettice was bound out as an apprentice as a child. There is a Middlesex deed dated 5 Oct 1717 from Eleanor Kemp of Essex, widow, to her daughters Mary Nalle and Catherine Terbetts, and to a person named Allden. She speaks of land where her brother, Richard Willis, lived and died, and conveys a considerable amount of land in Essex and Middlesex.
