What a great idea. Love your website with pictures and recipes. I just joined a book club and they were talking about a cookie exchange. I never heard of one. I love this idea. I didn't get any baking done this year(your're right about getting busy) but you can always find time if you really want to. I will start one in my neighborhood next year. Happy Holidays!!!

I loved this site. Planning a party for 2002 christmas cookie exchange and I made the chocolate truffle cookies to share....these are decadent dreams. Also made the eggnog logs...wonderful, and the cut outs...nicest recipe I ever found. We will be playing some of your game suggestions too! Thanks for creating this site!

Hi Robin, I saw you on Food Network this past Sunday. My 11 year old daughter has been asking for a month to do a cookie exchange at our home. I was inspired by your show. I called 10 girls in her 5th grade class and they are all very excited to be included in this party. I asked each girl to bake 3 dozen cookies and place them in a tray. They will come to the party and display the cookies on the dining room table. I will let them try some cookies and then pass out tins to let them make their own selection of cookies for the tins. I was also going to put together a binder to put all of the recipes together for each girl to take home. They are going to be wearing Christmas outfits. I think that this will be a great holiday tradition. Do you have any more tips for this first party? Thanks, Michelle Saroki The party is on a Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00p.m. This is a very well behaved group of young ladies. They have been together since first grade.

Hi Robin, I just saw your cookie exchange on Foodnetwork. It was really lovely. I'm actually having 2 cookie exchanges at my house this week. I will make sure to use your tips for next year. I did ask that every one share the recipe and why it's important to them. I was particularly touched by your friend who had lost her mother and yet brought her mother to life by baking her cookies and sharing the recipes. THAT is the essence of what it means to be sharing and caring. Thank you and have a wonderful Christmas.

These Cookie Exchange parties sound like a great idea! My friend and I are going to get together this Sunday to make cookies, but I think next year we will expand and invite a whole bunch of people. The only difference is that we will make the cookies instead of having them already made. That will take a lot longer, I know, but we like to get together from work and I'm sure that we will find things to talk about between cookie batches. Oh, by the way, trying some recipes from your site this weekend. Thanks!

My Mom lives in Silver Spring, MD & is having her 18th Annual Cookie Exchange this Friday. I moved to GA 5 years ago & have finally got around to planning my very first exchange. I invited all the ladies on my court (12 houses) as a way to 'get to your neighbors'. So far only 5 Yes's. Oh well, it'll just be a small gathering. Next year I'll invite people I know will come. Mom recommended your site, very informative. Think I'll copy your RULES next time so I don't have to hassle people not to bring Pillsbury Slice n' Bake. :-}
