Republicans, the self absorbed party of the rich!
I am so completely disgusted and disillusioned with the Republican Party that I have renounced my party affiliation. I filled out the Change of Party form, checked off "DEMOCRAT", mailed it and I will now vote as a Democrat for the rest of my natural life. (So did my husband and our 2 adult aged kids.)
Here we are with:
The endless Iraqi War (which the GOP got us into) which is costing us billions... trillions...
Sky high outrageous gas prices (Um... what is the family business of the Bush family?)
A slowing economy, higher mortgage rates, a troubled stock market...The Middle East is exploding, Israel at war with Lebanon and Hezbollah, with the help of Iran and Syria, seriously, World War III is looming on the viewable horizon.
....and what do the Republican's do before their August recess? They attach their Estate Tax bill Repeal to the Minimum Wage Bill.
Yes, those po' millionaires need to keep every last dime they inherit...
while the working class has to pay taxes on every hard earned dime they make! We wouldn't want poor lil' ole' Paris Hilton to have to take out her check book and write a check to the bad tax man, now would we? She might get a writers cramp or something! Those poor gazillionaires! It would take so much of their valuable time (when they could be on their yachts) to work with their financial consultants to do some
Estate Planning. They need welfare just like the little guy!
Forget what they tell you about "loosing the family farm"
this is about rewarding their rich political contributors. There are no family farms that are lost which is why you don't hear stories about them. Smoke and Mirrors!
Background: If you weren't paying attention, in early July, the
Republicans tried to pass their Estate Tax Repeal bill at 1 or 2am in the morning, while their constituency was asleep. ---> They
Failed to pass it. Then on August 3rd, in a very slimy fashion the Republicans quickly attached their failed Bill to the back of Sen. Sarbane's co-sponsored bill to hike the Minimum Wage for the nations lowest income workers.
Senator Sarbane voted against his own bill because of Republican 'chicanery'. They
Failed and lost again.

Now the Republican's are going to try and slime their Estate Tax repeal through
again in September. If they win, they would take
TRILLIONS out of the treasury. Can we afford this? Guess who would have to make up the difference?

We need to vote all the Republicans out of Congress this November. They are killing America with their elitist special interest groups which appeal to only the very richest among us, the
top .5 percent!
The Republicans are NOT the party of the people. They do NOT CARE about "us". They only care about their fat ass rich, selves.
