It's a Grey Day on the web!

Yesterday I received an email from my Mom. Her note made me feel better, so I thought I'd share it. My mother lives in Michigan. Thanks, Mom!

The title of the email is: "I'm so lucky".

Last Wednesday night, a friend called, left this message on the answering machine “I’m in Maryland, will be home this weekend, will bring you a surprise”

I said to Rick, “it’s crabs”. Last night Denny called, and yep he brought a half bushel crabs and this morning at approximately 9:30 crabs are steaming in the pot. Being from the Midwest he wasn’t exactly sure how to fix and eat em’ so we gave him a quick demonstration. He went home with most of the crabs and Rick and I ate about 10 of the most meaty, delicious crabs ever. He got them at Capt. Lou’s, north of Baltimore, near Aberdeen. Never in a million years did I picture us eating crabs on this beautiful, fall day. So then later in the afternoon I needed a chocolate fix, didn’t have any, got in the car, went to grocery store in Decatur, bought some Breyers Chocolate. On the drive home, the scenery was so gorgeous, clear blue sky, wide open vistas, our hill in the background, I started singing God Bless America. I didn’t know I knew the words. I got so emotional, the day was so beautiful and there I am, driving along singing God Bless America, after a great meal of crabs and chocolate ice cream next to me.

God Bless America, the land of the strong, the brave, ice cream and crabs.

How lucky we are!

Love,
Mom
