What a difference a week makes.Last week, Alfred Muller made the national news, even getting his own page in People magazine. Good ole' Alfie is the Mayor of Friendship Heights, a small village outside of Washington DC, in the same county in Maryland that I live in.
Anyway, Alfie pushed through the
nation's toughest anti-smoking law. A law that prohibits smoking on PUBLIC PROPERTY. If you go to Friendship Heights, you can't even smoke a ciggie --OUTSIDE! (The law was just repealed this past week. Bad week for Alfie.)
Alfie knows better than we do, what is good for us.Alfie is 58 years old, single, as in never married, a retired doctor, and for the past 35 years, he's been a volunteer usher at the Washington National Cathedral.
Alfie is a
paragon of virtue, a man to be looked up to --for
all of our health, spiritual, moralistic needs.
Yesterday, Alfie was picked up and charged for molesting a fourteen year old boy in the restroom of the Cathedral.
